Cloud Rider Horse · Celadon Chinese Incense Burner

Inspired by the Chinese motif of 馬踏祥雲 — a horse moving across auspicious clouds — the Cloud Rider is a sculptural Chinese horse incense burner designed around ideas of momentum, elevation and moving forward.

Finished in a soft jade-tone celadon glaze, the horse rises above a cylindrical ceramic body carved with cloud openings. When incense is lit inside, smoke drifts through and around the sculpture, turning the clouds into part of the visual experience.

Designed for both backflow incense cones and coil incense, the Cloud Rider works as functional incenseware while remaining a distinctive ceramic object for a desk, tea table, shelf or living space.

A Horse Rising Through Auspicious Clouds

The design draws from the traditional Chinese image of a horse moving through auspicious clouds — 馬踏祥雲. The horse suggests movement, perseverance and ambition, while clouds are often used in Chinese decorative arts to express auspiciousness and rising fortune.

Together, the two motifs create an image of forward momentum: rising above obstacles, moving toward opportunity and entering a new chapter with purpose.

As incense smoke passes through the cloud-shaped openings, the symbolism becomes part of the object itself, with drifting smoke extending the sculpted clouds around the horse.

Chinese Celadon · Sculptural Incenseware

The Cloud Rider is finished in a jade-tone celadon glaze inspired by the restrained beauty of traditional Chinese Ru-style ceramics. Its soft green surface and natural crackle variation give each piece subtle differences in tone and texture.

The sculptural lid, cylindrical body and tripod base are designed to remain visually complete even when incense is not burning. Between uses, the piece can stay on display as a small Chinese ceramic sculpture and home decor object.

Its compact vertical form makes it particularly suited to desks, tea tables, bookshelves and consoles where a small object can add character without taking over the space.

Feng Shui Symbolism for Momentum & Success

In Chinese decorative and Feng Shui symbolism, the horse is commonly associated with momentum, perseverance, achievement and forward movement.

The Cloud Rider builds on that meaning through the image of a horse rising through clouds, making it especially suited to spaces connected with work, creativity, ambition and new beginnings.

Style it on a home-office desk, bookshelf, living-room console or entryway as a symbolic object for progress and movement, while still allowing it to function naturally as incenseware.

Designed for Backflow Cones & Coil Incense

Lift the sculptural upper section to place a backflow incense cone or coil incense inside the ceramic chamber. As the incense burns, smoke moves through the carved openings and around the horse-and-cloud composition.

This dual-format design allows the burner to work with different Chinese incense experiences while helping keep ash contained within the ceramic body.

Pair it with woody, floral or traditional Chinese incense depending on the atmosphere you want to create at home.

Fire Horse 2026 & Beyond

The Cloud Rider was introduced as part of Bifang Studio’s 2026 Fire Horse collection, connecting the horse’s symbolism of movement and ambition with a rare zodiac year associated with energy, independence and forward momentum.

Beyond 2026, however, the piece is designed to remain relevant as an evergreen Chinese horse sculpture, celadon incense burner and Feng Shui-inspired home object. Its meaning is not limited to a single zodiac season.

A Meaningful Gift for New Chapters

A horse rising through clouds carries a natural message of progress, ambition and moving toward new opportunities. That makes the Cloud Rider especially suited to moments when someone is beginning something new.

Consider it as a graduation gift, new-job gift, promotion gift, housewarming gift or gift for a new venture, particularly for someone who appreciates Chinese culture, incense, ceramics or symbolic home objects.

Presented in a gift box, the piece combines cultural meaning, practical incense use and sculptural form in one object.
